Coaches and Volunteers
Yosemite Composite MTB Team was started by a group of parents, educators and mountain biking enthusiasts who want the sport to flourish in our community. All coaches and ride leaders complete background checks and league training.
Our top priorities are student-athlete safety and enjoyment! We need additional adult volunteers to serve in multiple capacities: coaches, ride leaders, transportation, fundraising, bike mechanics, race support….Interested? CONTACT US!
Mike Cleary is the Team Director and a Head Coach. Mike got serious about mountain bike racing as a member of the Stanford University cycling team. After college he helped start a cycling team and raced around Oregon before moving to Mariposa.

Patrick Pike is a Head Coach and Teen Trail Corps leader for our team (trail building!).

Jerry Lura is a Team Coach - I have been enduro racing for about 10 years, riding and trail building are a passion that I love to share.

Tim Bryant is a team coach. Coach Tim can usually be spotted riding the Stockton Creek Preserve. "Biking has always been a favorite hobby of mine. By encouraging kids to ride, I hope that it'll become a lifelong hobby for them too."

Jesse Fouch is a team coach.

Blake Maire is a team coach. Coach Blake is rarely seen with both tires on the ground.

Debbie Elliott is a team coach who started mountain biking one year ago after riding down a trail in Tahoe and experiencing her first-ever adrenaline rush. She takes joy in encouraging kids and watching them challenge themselves and overcome obstacles they didn’t think they were capable of overcoming. She is also a second-grade teacher at Oakhurst Elementary.

Joe Medley is a team coach. Joe grew up in the Yosemite foothills and enjoys all cycling disciplines ranging from cross country mountain biking to gravel racing. In his spare time he attempts to keep up with Coach Cleary on the steep climbs surrounding Mariposa.
